Roos: ‘I create art from my soul’
What three words describe you best?
“Creative, spontaneous and open-minded. Roos and art, that’s me! I always think of new things to create.”
What does creativity mean to you?
“Creativity to me means calmness. It might sound a bit heavy, but I really can’t live without it. If had I to choose for a creative life without much money or a rich life without creativity, I would 100% choose the creative life. Creating makes me so happy.”
Where do you find inspiration?
“In nature. Nature is our base. Our universe. Plants and shapes, everything comes from nature. And I find inspiration in cultures, especially the Asian culture. People are so colourful there.”
In one word, what do you live for?
“Happiness. In giving, feeling and spreading. I want to spread happiness and send it out to others. If I sense people around me are unhappy, I find that very difficult to deal with.”
What activity makes you lose track of time?
What sort of books and people inspire you?
“Other artists inspire me the most. Philosophers for instance and books about philosophy and the mind. I love ‘Creative visualization’ by Shakti Gawain. This book really helps me in the process of creating and visualizing. I like people who are passionate about life. That’s beautiful to me because passion comes from a place of sincerity. I believe passion is who people really are in their essence.”
