“Open, driven, theatre girl.”
What does creativity mean to you?
“To me, creativity means authenticity. Being able to do your own thing, no matter what others think. Having the courage to stick to your own voice and create whatever you want to create, without any restrictions.”
Where do you find inspiration?
“In other creatives, music, books and lyrics.”
In one word, what do you live for?
“I live for singing and theatre. It’s my dream to create my own theatre and to be able to be performing on stage every night.”
What activity makes you lose track of time?
“Whenever I sing, read or have a good conversation with a dear friend.”
What makes you happy? And what sort of books and people inspire you?
“Going to theatres, singing, the sun, animals, my friends, good food. Those are things that make me happy. Books that inspired me are The Artist Way by Julia Cameron, The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle and the Dutch book Jouw Ziel wil Zingen by Jan Kortie.
Merel is a performer, artist, singer and teacher. Singing is her biggest passion and she is currently working on creating her own theatre play.
